Kate Lester knew she wanted to become a comedian the second she mentioned doing standup to her friends and they told her not to do it. Originally from Oklahoma, Kate spent her youth being as insufferable as possible; naturally, this means she did a lot of community theatre. While she attended drama school (did we mention she’s insufferable?), Kate found herself drawn more and more toward standup comedy and writing. After some encouragement from a professor, Kate tricked two friends into moving to Los Angeles with her so she could pursue standup and screenwriting professionally.

Described as “charming in an un-charming way,” Kate’s comedy is infused with an honesty that toes the line between shock and surprise. Kate has had the pleasure of performing in basements, backyards, and bars across LA. She has booked performances (brag) at venues including The Comedy Nook, Fourth Wall Studios, The Pico Theater, and Manda’s Studio. When Kate isn’t doing standup or screenwriting, she can be found at home curled up in the fetal position.
